The joke about Swift Assist not making it last year is finally over:

It’s here, and in a refined and expanded form, as Apple said, they took the time they needed to make it worthwhile. Let’s see how it compares to workflow I’ve been exploring and working with lately:

Xcode 26 was released yesterday! Surprisingly, it supports macOS 15, but to get the new ChatGPT assistant, you’ll need macOS 26 Tahoe. So I upgraded my M3 Max MacBook Pro to Tahoe. I’m not saying you should, but I did so I could test those new features of Xcode and share them with you!

Worth noting that this is the smallest (in download size) release of Xcode ever!
